End of Season Drive In Days, Road Disruptions, and Other
Hi All,
As our season is nearing the end there are some items that you need to be aware of:
Drive In Days:
As always, we will be allowed to drive in the week-end before, the week of, and the week after Docks out. This means that we will be allowed to drive our cars in in Oct 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th (Docks out), and Nov 4th and 5th. As always be careful when driving on the spit, be respectful of other users of the spit, and try to keep the traffic to a minimum. The cart will not be running after Oct 15th.
Road Closures:
Sunday Oct 22nd will see an expected 25,000 runners participate in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Parts of Eastern ave, and Lake shore bvld will be closed.
To get to the spit you can use the following routes:
- DVP to Don Roadway across Lake Shore
- Gardiner to Lake Shore, south on Carlaw
- Cross the Lake Shore at Leslie
To depart from the spit:
- You will have to exit west of Carlaw via Don Roadway, as Carlaw will only be open to southbound traffic.
- Go north to at least Eastern ave on Leslie
Police will be at the intersections and only allow traffic to pass when there are are gaps in the runners, so expect delays. Full details of all road closures are posted on: http://www.torontowaterfrontmarathon.com/the-weekend/road-closures/
Motor Shed:
A reminder to label any motors you may have in the Motor shed by docks out. Any unlabeled motors will be removed and sold or disposed of.
Safety:
In preparation for docks out, we will be removing the safety equipment that is traditionally located on the dock and near the shoreline. Please use extra care when dropping masts, working on boats and when down at the club. In emergency the life ring will be located in the clubhouse.
See you all at docks out!
