Flooding Update
Hi all,
The lake levels are above what we saw in 2017, and are expected to continue to rise for another couple of weeks. Because of this there are some things that require extra attention at the club. Most urgently some containers in the gas compound are floating, and in danger of causing a spill. Because of this we will be organizing the gas compound this Saturday. In order to ensure there is no gas leaking into the water, any derelict containers that look old and damaged will be disposed of.
In addition to gas cans, there have been a few items floating away from the dinghy compound. Don’t leave oars, rolled up dinghies, or anything else on the ground, or on the floor of the oar shed. As always, its also a good idea to label your stuff, so if it does go floating off, it can be returned to its proper place.
Finally the high water levels are putting extra stress on the mooring balls and chains. This has resulted in a couple of chains breaking, and boats coming loose. To help keep the stress in the chains to a minimum, we ask that you keep your mooring lines as long as possible.
See you at sailpast! (You are going to sailpast aren’t you?)
